ENTRIES CLOSE NOVEMBER 15 1. This competition is held under the direct supervision of the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show and is sanctioned by the Southwestern Donkey and Mule Society. 2. Donkeys and Mules will be shown and judged in accordance with the rules of “The Texas Rule Book, effective January 1, 2019”. Dress code will be enforced. All accumulated points will count toward “Yearly Points Earned” if membership dues have been paid prior to the Show. 3. Show Fee. A $60 show fee is required for each animal entered. Late entries must pay a show fee of $80. No entries accepted after December 30. Entries must be submitted on entry applications obtained from the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show or from our website fwssr.com. Entry Fee. $15 per class for Halter and Performance Classes. Youth and Sub Youth classes NO CHARGE. ($10 from each entry will be paid by Stock Show to the Southwestern Donkey and Mule Society.) 4. Stall Fee . Refer to General Rule 4, Page 76. 5. Substitutions – Added Classes. Refer to General Rules 9 and 10, Page 77 6. Arrival and Release. Donkeys and Mules may arrive on show grounds Friday, January 24. No animal will be allowed on the show grounds without proper receipt of entry. Donkeys and Mules will be released after completion of judging. Refer to General Rule 26, Page 79. 7. Judging Schedule. Donkey and Mule Halter and Performance classes will be called in numerical order as listed for this division. Judging begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, January 25 and Sunday, January 26 in the Justin Arena. (Classes to be shown in order as listed on Pages 90-92.) 8. Sub Youth and Youth Classes. Sub Youth exhibitors may only show in Sub Youth classes. Youth exhibitors may show in Youth exhibitor classes and any Halter classes, including mixed gender classes where adults are showing Jacks. Ages: Sub Youth 10 years and younger as of January 1, 2020. Youth 18 years and younger as of January 1, 2020. (See Rule Book for detailed information.) 9. Green Classes: Classes 36, 54, 64 and 74 for Donkeys, all classes Walk/Trot only; Classes 40, 58, 68 and 78 for Mules; Classes 9, 16, 23, 116 and 127 for Miniature Donkeys; Classes 7, 14, 21, 112 and 123 for Miniature Mules. Green Animal refers to an animal of any age, but there is a limit of two (2) years for an animal to be shown under saddle/harness in these classes. These classes are for adult riders/handlers on Green Animals. (See Rule Book for detailed information.) 10. PreGreen Classes: Classes 82, 105, 118 and 129 for Miniature Donkeys; Classes 83, 106, 119 and 130 for Miniature Mules. PreGreen refers to an animal under three (3) years old. (See Rule Book for detailed information.) 11. Adult Classes: Classes 38, 56, 66 and 76 for Donkeys; Classes 42, 60, 70 and 80 for Mules; Classes 107, 114 and 125 for Non-Driving Miniature Donkeys; Classes 108, 115 and 126 for Non- Driving Miniature Mules; Classes 6, 13, 20, 111 and 122 for Miniature Donkeys and Classes 7, 14, 21, 112 and 123 for Miniature Mules. 12. Novice Classes: Classes 37, 55, 65 and 75 for Donkeys and Classes 41, 59, 69 and 79 for Mules. Novice refers to an inexperienced adult exhibitor, not an animal. (See Rule Book for detailed information.) 13. Miniature Classes : All Miniature Classes unless specified as Miniature Donkey or Miniature Mule will include both Miniature Donkeys and Miniature Mules.
