SPECIAL PRIZES FOR HERDSMEN Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show------------------------------------------------$1,190.00 Agriculture Development Fund ------------------------------------------------5,850.00 Total------------------------------------------------- 7,040.00 Special prizes will be awarded to the herdsmen or 4-H or FFA group in charge of designated livestock exhibits. A committee appointed by the Management will make inspections during the Show to determine those who, in their judgment, make the best record for the period of the Show, taking into consideration the following points:

1. Orderliness and cleanliness of stalls and animals. 2. Promptness in having stalls or pens cleaned by 8 a.m. each day. 3. Systematic and neat arrangement of stall area and service alleys. 4. Adherence to tie out times. 5. Personal appearance of herdsmen and helpers. 6. Observance of all rules and regulations. 7. Cooperating with show officials in promoting the Livestock Show in general. 8. For awards, see heading of each department.

A $50 grand prize will be awarded to the best herdsman in the cattle departments.

THE AGRICU LTURA L DEVELOPMENT FUND INCREASES SUPPORT OF THE YOUTH OF TEXAS!  Continuing to provide $500 to the exhibitors of Champions and $250 to Reserve Champions in each division of the Junior Breeding Shows. Bonuses totaling $18,750!  Since 2015, the Agricultural Development Fund has committed additional premiums annually to exhibitors in the following Junior Shows: Barrows, Breeding Sheep, Dairy Cattle, Wether Lambs, Wether Goats and Youth Dairy Goats.  In 2026, the fund will now award $5,850 to the Junior Dairy Cattle, Junior Beef Heifer and Junior Steer Herdsman Award Winners! Grand Total Support = $207,000 for the 2026 Show!
