GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR COMPETITIONS & CONTESTS

General Rules and Regulations for Competitions and Contests govern Junior Agricultural Mechanics Project Show, Junior Ag Robotics Challenge and all Judging Contests held at this Show; and in addition, each Competition and Contest will be governed by the Special Rules under that Competition or Contest. Refer to these Special Rules for eligibility of contestants, time of events and awards. The Special Rules govern in case of a conflict with the General Rules. In addition, all Competitions and Contests participants must comply with the Livestock Show General Rules and Regulations as found on Page 17 of this Premium List publication. 1. Statement of Eligibility. The Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show makes available to: a. County Extension Agents and Agricultural Science Teachers in charge of 4-H Clubs or FFA programs the opportunity to enter members in their programs in the Competitions and Contests Department of the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show, subject to the following Special Rules. These Special Rules are only minimum requirements for participation in the Competitions and Contests and are not intended to limit the right of any CEA or AST, or the Texas AgriLife Extension Service or the Texas Education Agency, to impose additional requirements as they deem necessary. The opportunity to enter 4-H Club and FFA member groups in the Competitions and Contests is made available only to a CEA and AST supervising these members. In no event are these rules to be construed as making any offer or opportunity available to any 4-H Club or FFA member. In no event shall any CEA or AST be considered to be an agent of Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show for any purpose. Exhibitors and contestants must be bona fide members of a County 4-H Club or FFA Chapter. 4-H entrants must be actively enrolled in a 4-H program and be between the ages of nine (9) and eighteen (18) on August 31 of the coming show year or be eight (8) years old and in the 3rd grade. 4-H exhibitors must be enrolled in public or private elementary or secondary schools of Texas, FFA members must be actively enrolled in FFA and attending elementary or secondary schools in Texas, and be bona fide residents of Texas during the proper ownership periods and show dates. b. University and/or College leadership in charge of Judging Contest programs and/or curriculum the opportunity to enter members in their programs in the Intercollegiate Judging Contests of the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show, subject to the following Special Rules. The opportunity to enter contestants in the Intercollegiate Judging Contests is made available only to a faculty, staff member, professor or coach supervising these students. In no event are these rules to be construed as making any offer or opportunity available to any student. In no event shall any faculty, staff member, professor or coach be considered to be an agent of Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show for any purpose. Contestants must be bona fide members of their respective university or college. 2. Entry of Individuals and Teams. Entry applications for each Competition or Contest must be submitted online by the entry deadline for each respective Competition or Contest. An exhibitor agreement must be signed and completed for each competition and contests.This application for entry must be signed officially by the coach, certifying that the team is eligible for entry in the Competition or Contest and that each exhibitor and/or contestant is eligible under the rules of the Competition or Contest. 3. Entry Fees. All fees must be submitted with entries. Overpayments in the amount of $20 or less will not be refunded. Make business checks payable to: Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR). Checks must be postmarked by December 8, 2025.
