SPECIAL RULES (APPLY TO YOUTH AND OPEN DIVISIONS)

1. Show Fees: Open Division Show: $40 per head 2. REMINDER-Entry Verification. Exhibitors will be responsible for obtaining and verifying their show number/entry to Superintendents at the Cactus Room (in the Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibits Hall Building) from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Thursday, January 30. 3. Chianina entered must be registered with the American Chianina Association (ACA) by entry closing date and must be owned and registered in the name of a member of the ACA or Junior ACA. Both Fullblood and Percentage Chianina will be eligible to show. All entries must have a minimum of 6.25% Chianina blood in order to participate in ACA nationally sponsored shows. 4. The original ACA registration certificate (or photocopy) for each entry must be available for presentation to the Superintendent or Livestock Show Director at the time entries are verified prior to judging. All tattoos will be checked and must correspond with the registration papers. Any animal not having a legible tattoo, or a tattoo not corresponding with its ACA papers, will be ineligible to compete and will be barred from showing. 5. Exhibitor agrees to abide by all show rules of the American Chianina Association and the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show. 6. All bulls shown in individual classes must have a permanent nose ring and an attached lead. 7. All females eighteen (18) months of age and older must have a certificate of pregnancy from a licensed veterinarian or have produced fertile eggs as certified in a written statement by a licensed veterinarian or embryologist or have a calf at side. 8. There will be a cow/calf class in each division, and a Grand Champion Pair will be selected. The pair will not show against the heifer for Grand Champion Heifer. Calves exhibited in the cow/calf division are not allowed to show in individual classes. All cows and calves must be registered with the ACA. The maximum age for calves is 260 days. No maximum age limit on the cows. The registration catagory of the cow determines the division in which the pair shows. Calves shown at the cow’s side must be the cow’s natural calf. The exhibitor may be asked to allow the calf to nurse the cow. Cow/Calf entries must submit two (2) $40 cattle show fees. BREEDING SHOW CLASSIFICATIONS–CHIANINA Youth Division Show: $40 per head
