SPECIAL RULES AND INFORMATION This Contest will be governed by the General Rules and Regulations of the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show, General Rules and Regulations for Judging Contests and, in addition, the following Special Rules. ELIGIBILITY. The entering college must designate on the entry application either the: a. National Division or b. American Division in which the college’s team wishes to compete. No college will be represented by more than one (1) team, and may compete in only one (1) division. This Contest will be governed by the General Rules and Regulations of the Intercollegiate Meat Judging Contest as approved by the American Meat Science Association. For further details, reference is made to the rules and regulations of the AMSA. CLASSES . Ten (10) classes are to be judged as follows: Two (2) classes of pork carcasses Two (2) classes of wholesale pork cuts Two (2) classes of lamb carcasses Each of the above classes will consist of four (4) specimens. In addition, there will be fifteen (15) beef carcasses for quality and yield grading and ten (10) specifications cuts to be accepted or rejected. AWARDS. The Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show will award a plaque to the High Team Overall in both the National Division and the American Division. The Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show will award a sterling silver spur tie clasp to each of the five (5) highest ranking individuals in the contest. The Show also will award ribbons to the five (5) highest ranking individuals in each major class: beef, pork, lamb, grading and specifications, the ten (10) high individuals and the ten (10) high alternates in the contest. Other appropriate awards will be presented in all categories by various associations and individuals.
