PATRICK MALONE MEMORIAL AWARD In April 2021, the Fort Worth Bantam Club and the Texas Standard-bred poultry community lost a foundation member and valued supporter of our exhibition poultry hobby throughout North America. From the start of Pat Malone’s poultry interests with our local club, he expanded his participation and activities, becoming a licensed judge of both the A.P.A. and A.B.A., serving as an officer and committee member of the American Poultry Association, and ultimately leading the A.P.A. as President for two terms. Pat Malone was a respected national poultry judge and provided invaluable service on many fronts to our poultry hobby. While Pat raised and showed several breeds of bantams, his knowledge had a depth across the entire poultry realm. In remembrance of Patrick Malone and his long history of service and dedication to our poultry hobby, a memorial plaque will be offered beginning with the 2023 Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show for the OVERALL POULTRY SHOW CHAMPION (all large and bantam chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and guinea fowl competing). W. EARL BRADFORD TRAVELING AWARD The memorial award for CHAMPION SINGLE COMB WHITE LEGHORN BANTAM , given in honor of W. EARL BRADFORD , was first offered at the 1985 Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show. With the passing of Mr. Bradford in 1994, the original plaque was retired, and a memorial plaque continues to be given each year in his memory. F. ADRIAN BALLARD TRIBUTE AWARD The passing of club member F. ADRIAN BALLARD in June 2002 saddened the Fort Worth Bantam Club as we lost a very active and supportive friend. In remembrance of Mr. Ballard as a catalyst and diligent worker for the Fort Worth Bantam Club, and in recognition for his promotion of, and successes with the Australorp breed, the Fort Worth Bantam Club offers the following awards on the breed that he enjoyed and promoted so well. The Fort Worth Bantam Club offers two (2) special memento plaques in remembrance of F. Adrian Ballard for the CHAMPION AUSTRALORP , large and bantam in competition together. One plaque will be for the Champion Austalorp in the Open Show, and one will be awarded for the Champion Australorp in the Youth Show.
