PROGRESS THROUGH PERFORMANCE EVENT SPECIAL RULES

1. All entries must be either Purebred Simmental, Percentage Simmental (50% up to, but not including Purebred) or Purebred Simbrah and registered with the American Simmental Association (ASA). All entries will be subject to Progress Through Performance guidelines and Texas Simmental/Simbrah Association guidelines. 2. NEW-Entry Verification . Exhibitors will be responsible for obtaining and verifying their show number/entry to the Superintendents at the Cactus Room (in the Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibits Hall Building) from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., Thursday, January 25. 3. Proof of registration for each entry must be available to the Superintendent or Livestock Show Director at the time entries are verified. Proof of registration may be an official registration certificate, a printed copy of the digital certificate or a printout from ASA’s Herdbook. 4. In cases where families, companies and/or corporations, etc. are operated as a unit under the same management, but also have cattle registered in the names of individual partners, said cattle (even though bearing a different ownership) are eligible to be shown in competition under firm name provided that they have not been and will not be, shown in the name of the individuals. 5. Two-year-old heifers must have produced a calf or be safe in calf as verified by a licensed veterinarian or have been

used as a donor female and have produced viable, fertilized embryos as verified by the owner. 6. No calf, either heifer or bull, can be shown at side of dam, if older than 205 days on day of show. 7. Tattoos may be checked at ASA or TSSA discretion for show eligibility.

8. Grand and Reserve Grand Champions will have DNA samples pulled and tested for parentage and genomics. ASA has the option to pull additional random DNA samples. DNA collection will occur at the exhibition site and will be supervised and/or conducted by ASA staff. Failure to submit to DNA testing will result in automatic disqualification. 9. This is a PTP Ring of Champions event. All exhibitors and entries are required to conform with PTP rules and regulations, found online at simmental.org>ASA Programs>Progress Through Performance.
