JUDGE’S RULES Judges are earnestly requested to familiarize themselves with all the rules and regulations of this Show and to especially note those rules bearing on the classes to be judged by them.

38. SELECTION OF JUDGES. Judges will be selected by the Exposition in cooperation with the breed associations. In every case, the judge is selected with the utmost care and, as fair as possible, will be of national reputation.

39. DECISION OF JUDGES FINAL. The decision of the judges will be final in all cases, except where mistake, fraud, misrepresentation or collusion, not discovered at the time of awards, is proven. In such cases, the Management or such referee as it may appoint may make the decision, or the case may be referred to the Executive Committee from whose decision there can be no appeal. 40. INTERFERENCE WITH JUDGES. If any exhibitor, in any way, whether in person or by agent, or servants, interferes with the judges, or shows any disrespect to them, or the Show, the Management may demand a proper apology from such exhibitor, or it may exclude the exhibitor from competition and from the ring and may also withhold from such exhibitor premiums that may have been awarded. 41. TIME OF JUDGING. The schedule as published in this Horse Premium List will be followed as closely as possible. Exhibitors should ascertain at what time the exhibits entered will be judged. Any exhibit not presented promptly at scheduled time will be ruled out and barred from competition in the class called. No complaint or protest on the grounds that the judges overlooked exhibits will be considered. Barn calls are a courtesy, it is the exhibitor’s responsibility to report to their class on time.

42. SPECIAL AWARDS. When determining specific breed special awards, each breed association’s rules shall apply. Other special awards will be awarded as outlined in this Premium List .

Exhibitors must be 14-18 years of age to be eligible for scholarships. Texas POAC will determine high point youth scholarships and reserve high point youth scholarships per Texas POAC rules. Texas Paint Horse Club will determine high point youth scholarships and reserve high point youth scholarships per Texas Paint Horse Club rules. Texas Palomino Exhibitors Association will determine high point youth scholarship and reserve high point youth scholarship per Texas Palomino Exhibitors Association rules. AQHA youth high point scholarship and reserve high point youth scholarship recipients must have shown in Halter or Performance Halter and three (3) performance events on February 2 or February 3. AQHA Level 1 Youth classes will not count towards the youth high point scholarships and reserve high point youth scholarships. In the event the scholarship winner is not eligible, any remaining funds will return to the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show Equine Scholarship Program.
